Carl E HooperCarl E Hooper

September 1, 1960-November 10, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that the Hooper family shares the passing of Carl Hooper. He was a husband, father and uncle, but his proudest title was Pappy. Carl was born in Ashland, Oregon. In Silverton Oregon, Carl made many friends and met the love of his life, Casey. They were married June 29, 1980. They settled in Salem Oregon and enjoyed 42 wonderful years together.

Carl owned and operated Faith Electric for over 30 years.  Often doing work at no cost for the elderly and families in need. Carl was a member of the Keizer Lions Club for 15 years, serving as club president for the last 5 years. Carl also served in the Army National Guard in the early 1980’s.

Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing pool, and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He taught his granddaughter how to play cribbage, checkers and chess and raced hot wheels with his grandson.

Carl worked so hard to give those he loved the best possible lives. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his family. Carl was not rich in money or material possessions but so rich in family, love and respect, his wealth couldn’t be counted.

The greatest contributions are the ones you leave behind. Carl is survived by his wife, Katherine "Casey" Hooper, daughter Cathy “Joe” Skelton Devin Skelton, son Chris Hooper, grandchildren Colleen Skelton and Graham Hooper. Siblings Peggy Vega, Jeanie Vega, Retta Jaymes, Wayne Hooper, Clella Minchue and Christy Thomas, many nieces and nephews and many friends.

Carl is proceeded in death by his parents, Fay and Wayne Hooper, and sister, Evelyn Hooper.

Celebration of life will be held on November 27, 11am-4pm at the Keizer Lions Club, 4100 Cherry Ave NE Keizer OR 97303.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Keizer Lions Club, spending time in nature, enjoying a good cup of coffee, lending a helping hand, and loving your family.
