Brandt W. Kennedy
March 24, 1929 - December 29, 2020
Brandt Wilmer Kennedy was born March 24, 1929 in Spokane, Washington to George Wilmer and Lora Mae (Draper) Kennedy. He married Marilyn Jennings, and they had two children, Brenda Troxell (Lyndell) and Steven (Kayleen). They also helped raise their great-niece, Kyna, and her brother, Cameron. Brandt served in the US Army and later worked in law enforcement. He drove for many years for Consolidated Freightways out of Missoula, Montana and later worked as a long-haul truck driver. He and Marilyn ministered for some time at Boy’s Ranch near Billings, Montana.
Brandt loved the Lord and was always ready with a testimony to God’s goodness. Outgoing, caring and curious are good words to describe him. He was always more willing to listen to the other person’s story than to tell his own. He also loved helping daughter Brenda by driving the Bible bus to public schools so children could hear the Gospel. The family is comforted with the assurance that he is at last with his Savior.
Brandt is survived by his children, five grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn, in 2014; his brother, Paul, and his sister, Rita.
A memorial service is planned for noon Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Fellowship Church, 6994 Sunnyside Rd SE, Salem. The family plans to join with extended family and friends later this year to inter his ashes in Spangle, Washington.
