Betty Ann Lyda
August 2, 1930 - December 13, 2018
Betty Ann Burlile was born August 2, 1930 in Emmett, Idaho to Clarence Douglas and Beulah Anna (Boggess) Burlile. On May 21, 1948, the day following her high school graduation, she married Earl Harvey Lyda.
Earl and Betty left Idaho in 1956 and purchased a farm near Turner, Oregon, where they lived for more than 50 years. Aside from being a preacher’s wife and raising five daughters, Betty helped with farm chores, was a church pianist and organist, sang in a ladies trio and gave piano lessons. She worked as a bookkeeper and office manager at Turner Retirement Homes for 30 years.
On December 13, 2018, Betty joined Earl in their heavenly home.
Betty is survived by her dearly loved family: daughters Carol (David) Wright, Jo (Larry) Koenig, Gayle (Grant) Olds, Nancy (John) Nelson and Kaye (David) Weaver; her sisters Jeanne, Irene, Iris and Barbara; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother Jim.
A memorial celebration will be held at Turner Christian Church on Saturday, January 19 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Turner Christian Church or Turner Retirement Homes.
