Why Water for Cremations ?
Aqua cremations are also known as water cremations. The body is placed in a chamber with 95% water and 5% alkali at a high temperature and pressure. The alkali breaks down the composition of the body over a number of hours, usually two to four hours.
Then what is left are the deceased's bones - cremains - similar to the ashes in a flame cremation. These are given to the family and to be placed into an urn, or scattered at a specific location.
As with standard cremations, a family can choose from other services that include a family gathering, or a celebration of life service.
The cost for the aqua cremation is $ 1,485.00. Other items to consider are certified copies of the death certificate - $ 25.00 per copy per State, the State filing fee of $ 20.00, and an urn. Please let us know what questions you may have.
