An Eco-Friendly Alternative to Flame Cremations
For Your Loved One
When it comes to choosing between different types of funeral services, we believe that every family should have as many options as ;possible. Eco-friendly options are becoming more popular and we are proud to announce Aqua Cremations as a new choice.
The Aqua Cremation process is an eco-friendly alternative to flame cremation and burial. It uses water instead of fire to return a body back to Mother Nature.
How Does It Work?
This type of cremation involves water instead of flames. Technically, it is called alkaline hydrolysis. It is the exact same type of process that happens in nature with bio-decomoposition, except the process is sped up.
Why Do Families Choose This Type of Cremation Process?
When offered this choice of water or flames, many families opt to choose the water process, as it more closely matches Nature's own process, and the remaining ashes are still available for urns or scattering.
During a process of alkaline hydrolysis, the body is gently placed in a clean, stainless steel container that contains water and alkali. The combination of alkali, water, and temperature accelerates a decomposition that occurs naturally in nature. At the end of the process, the body is returned to its natural components that haver been dissolved in water. The only remains are the bones. The combination of 95% water and 5% alkali that is used in the process is then returned to the ecosystem as byproducts of natural decomposition.
The ash that is returned to the family is simply bone mineral, or calcium phosphate. The ashes will keep in an urn, or may be buried or scattered in a special place as some families choose to do.
