Alice Jeanne Fineran
November 26, 1928 - May 9, 2021
Alice Jeanne Fineran, (Jeanne), went home to be with her husband (Don Fineran) and the Lord on Sunday, May 9th, 2021. She passed away after a long journey with Alzheimer’s. Jeanne was born in 1928 and grew up in Ohio. She became an Oregonian in 1954 when she and Don moved to Lakeview, Oregon. Jeanne obtained her RN degree in Ohio and spent her career as a nurse working in Salem at the old General Hospital and then The Doctors Clinic. The most important part of her life was her family. In addition to her marriage of 67 years to Don, Jeanne cherished her 5 sons (Jim, Mike, Mark, Steve, Bruce) and their families. She loved being Grandma to 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Some of Jeanne’s favorite hobbies were sewing and knitting, frequently making clothing, quilts, baby blankets, and sweaters for the grandkids. Jeanne enjoyed music and after Don surprised her with an organ, she started lessons in her 60s and performed at several recitals. Jeanne enjoyed great friendships with her pinochle group and the couples that she and Don played Tripoli with for over 40 years! A service to honor Jeanne’s life will be held in a few weeks and she will be buried with Don and next to her mother (Gladys Jones) at Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem, Oregon. The family is thankful for the cards and encouragement received in memory of Jeanne; and is also grateful for the exemplary care provided by Windsong at Eola Hills and Serenity Hospice.
